The Company:Our client is an international oil & gas operator.The Role:SERVICE:
The Service Provider shall lead and coordinate the mechanical/rotating and packages studies of the project.
Call for, participate to and/or organise all the necessary technical and/or co-ordination meetings required to achieve the performance of the work.
To supervise LNG plant detailed design of relevant discipline and provide assistance/support to pre-commissioning, commissioning/start-up preparation teams.
To ensure PLANT mechanical and packages design consistency, optimization, operability and flexibility which implies interfaces management and leadership towards other packages, such as wellpads and marine port.
To ensure that the PLANT detailed design for mechanical packages, equipment and rotating machines, in particular the large ones (gas turbines and compressors) complies with S.O.R., contract documentation, schedule, budget and safety practices.
To avoid LNG plant EPC contractor stand-by/delays by prompt response to engineering queries and request for waiver (if any) and unexpected technical issues, by a proactive and proficient approach.
To support the OBT related activities for this discipline.
MISSIONS:
1. To monitor and highlight the interfaces within the LNG plant EPC packages (in particular with process, operations, civil, electrical and control systems disciplines) and with the other packages of the PLANT in relation to this discipline.
2. To participate in technical reviews during the detailed design execution: to provide support and expertise and contribution with regards to this discipline.
3. To ensure proper reporting, highlighting critical issues to the Engineering Manager/OBT Manager and proposing remedial actions.
4. To contribute to improving the project lessons learnt and personnel skills.
5. To contribute to the advancement of working methods and tools within his specialty.
6. To advise the Engineering Manager/OBT Manager on solutions to this discipline.
7. Ensure that the design of installations meets the requirements of the project specifications, Safety Concept, S.O.R and other related documents.
8. Guarantee the quality of mechanical/packages and rotating equipment related studies and associated deliverables. Monitor and coordinate the LNG plant EPC Contractor and guide the design of the installations by close participation in the design activities, review and comment on the corresponding detailed design deliverables.
9. Follow up, control and comment all equipment/packages handling-maintenance documentation in close collaboration with the operations and maintenance specialists.
10. Provide assistance to the Engineering Manager/OBT Manager and Area Project Engineer for the preparation of the subcontracts for Long Lead Items (when applicable).
11. Participate in technical meetings, challenge the EPC Contractor, monitor and promote cost saving solutions in the design. Promote alternatives design to optimize works and Schedule.
12. Report to Engineering Manager/OBT Manager on progress of his activity and on changes to basis for design, as early as possible, when anticipated, anticipate problems in his disciplines and inform Engineering Manager/OBT Manager.
13. Ensures that the mechanical/packages/rotating equipment related engineering activities are performed in order to execute project as per Company know-how, with required level of quality, safety and with respect of environment, within the agreed time schedule and cost.
14. Participate to the critical equipment Factory Acceptance Tests.Essential Skills / Qualifications:Diploma: Chartered Engineer with proven experience with large rotating equipment for power generation and LNG plant (gas turbines and compressors) and other specific packages such as WHRU.
Candidate MUST HAVE:
Proven experience with LNG projects : E, P and C phases
Proven experience with large Gas Turbines for power plant and large/complex compression drives E, P and tests
Proven experience with complex rotating equipment packages
Proven experience as a lead discipline: motivated by technical aspects of the work. i.e. Company is not in search of a Project Manager, Project Engineer
Capable to take workload, to work with and supervise EPSCC Contractors and Vendors
Minimum 10 years experience with Russian project, and arctic environment
Familiar and conversant with RAM studies and their interpretation for the design.
