898674 - Mechanical Rotating Equipment EngineerOur Client is a well established, vastly experienced and multi-disciplined contractor, with global capabilities in Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPC&C) to deliver comprehensive and value-engineered solutions to clients in the hydrocarbon, petrochemical and energy industries.They are currently recruiting for the position of Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer, based in Darlington.Job DescriptionCarry out the specification of rotating equipment and packaged equipment, including the supervision of other engineers.Ensure that the work is carried out in professional manner within the allotted hours and within budget.Supply the best technical/ commercial solutions ensuring equipment conforms to project standards.Take personal responsibility for Health and Safety either in the office or on siteTake into account all relevant procedures, guidance etc. relating to the work, which will ensure compliance with the company's Safety Management SystemAttend relevant Safety, Health and Environmental awareness training provided by the company which will help meet the above requirements.Carry out design and man hour estimates for Proposals, FEED Studies, and EPC rotating/packaged equipment. Duties include material selection, compilation of data sheets, specifications, design calculations, requisitions, technical clarifications and technical bid analysis.Single point contact for the equipment. Duties include attendance at kick off meeting, co-ordination of Vendor documents, checking/approving Vendor/Project documents, reporting Vendor progress, resolve technical queries and attendance at Factory Acceptance testsSpecify equipment that is fit for purpose and meets project standards and requirementsTo act as a Lead Engineer on a project as requiredPrepare tenders for vessels and assist in Tank related work in bidsDevelop man-hour estimates for bidsEnsure that all relevant procedures are adhered to.Report any major technical issues to Principal Equipment EngineerContribute to the culture of continuous improvement with the Mechanical SectionSkills & ExperienceDegree qualified, HNC/HND may be considered combined with relevant experienceConsiderable experience in the oil, gas or petrochemical industryExperience of specification and design in ambient/low temperature storage, liquefaction and regas terminals, loading arms, blowers, pumps, vaporisers, pressure vessels or heat exchangers.High analytical skills, computer literate.Must have knowledge with respect to current and new legislation and standards e.g., BS, API and Client codes and standards, DCR and HS&E Regulations and EU DirectivesThis is a contract position.The rate for this position is negotiable.If you feel that you are well suited to the above opportunity and would like to find out more then please contact Orion Group for more information or apply by forwarding your current CV quoting reference 898674.Orion Group currently supplies over 4,500 personnel in roles including Oil & Gas, Renewables, Power & Utilities, Construction, Mining, Rail, Aerospace, IT & Telecoms, Office and Commercial.
