MECHANICAL ROTATING ENGINEER - France

Location: PAU – France Status : Resident Mobilisation : September 2014 Duration : 6 months (renewable) Language : English mandatory and French a plus The service holder assists and supports, within the Field Operation team, the FOSC & Integration Leader for all the maintenance and inspection activities related to the Mechanical & Rotating equipment of the future Client facilities. He is responsible for all operational aspects related to Mechanical & Rotating equipments during the maintenance and inspection engineering phase and shall bring assistance on this subject as and when required. As such, the service holder participates in the review of the Maintenance and Inspection philosophy specifically for systems and equipment related to the Mechanical & Rotating equipment, and participates in the follow-up of the definition, preparation and implementation of all the maintenance and inspection means (procedures, contracts, resources...) of such systems, equipment and devices, for the start-up and the operational phases. The service holder is also responsible for ensuring that Mechanical & Rotating equipment designed for Client facilities comply with defined maintenance and inspection requirements, specifically during the engineering and construction phases. As such, the service holder is in charge of verifying that deliverables (both internal and external) related to Mechanical & Rotating equipment fit for purpose, are operable and maintainable as per Field Operations Philosophy and Maintenance Philosophy. The service holder also provides comments on engineering document to FPSO specialists to secure that Project Contractual requirements are implemented by Contractor(s). He provides expertise for the Project in the domain of Mechanical & Rotating equipment maintenance and inspection. The service holder shall liaise actively with FPSO Package (Engineering team - Discipline Leaders/Engineers) regarding all matters related to the operability, availability and maintainability of Mechanical & Rotating equipment, raising consequently necessary comments in order to ensure its whole consistency. The service holder shall bring assistance on this subject as and when required. During construction phases (at construction shipyard), he will check that installation of Mechanical & Rotating equipment are performed as per plan and approved specifications, and shall highlight or report any deviation that could jeopardize their operability and maintainability. ACTIVITIES: To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSSE, respect the Project HSSE requirements and ensure application of HSSE rules within his area of responsibility. To anticipate all safety issues that could happen in Operations due to Mechanical & Rotating equipment substandard or wrongly arranged. To be informed of Project contractual and technical requirements related to Mechanical & Rotating equipment operability and maintainability, as well as, in general, international standards and practices for application to the project. To participate in the management of FOSC contract. To participate in the review of the Maintenance and Inspection philosophy with regard to Mechanical & Rotating equipment, organization and procedures. To participate, as requested, in the review of queries / derogation requests. To participate, as required, to coordination meetings with Contractor. To provide inputs/advises, as necessary, for the design of FPSO’s with regards to Mechanical & Rotating equipment operability and maintainability. To participate in the review, preparation and implementation of all the maintenance and inspection means (procedures, contracts, resources...), for the start-up and the operational phases. To participate in the review of the detailed engineering deliverables developed by FPSO contractor (or subcontractor) with regards to Mechanical & Rotating equipment operability and maintainability aspects, to ensure that Mechanical & Rotating equipment related maintenance and inspection requirements are taken into account. To check that engineered solutions are in line with production availability targets and suitable for maintenance and inspection. To raise consequently necessary comments and highlight potential issues related to operability and maintainability of Mechanical & Rotating equipment. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND Professional Experience (years): 15 Experience in similar position (years): 7 Level / Diploma: Engineer, or equivalent.
