Rotating Equipment Engineer - United Kingdom

We are currently recruiting for a Rotating Equipment Engineer for our client in the Falkirk area. You will play a key role in defining, maintaining and improving the safety and availability of rotating equipment systems through selection and operation of equipment. The position's prime accountability is to an identified asset or assets through the employee's line supervisor. A separate technical accountability is supported through the Strategic Performance Unit (SPU) RE Technical Authority and the RE Community of Practice.Key Accountabilities:• Providing clear direction and input during the selection of Project rotating equipment, assisting the Project leader for discipline support.• Detailed involvement in the procurement, installation and commissioning of rotating equipment• Direct Budgetary Responsibility for Critical Rotating Equipment within assigned area• Provide Technical Advice and Support to the assets• Communicate key learnings and strategies for SPU to Global RE Network• Develop spares holding philosophy and strategy for critical rotating equipment• Maximizing unit availability and minimizing fixed costs associated with repairs to rotating equipment• Developing and implementing rotating equipment reliability plans to include proper start-up and shut-down procedures, development of operating envelopes, defining condition monitoring tasks and reviewing data, and producing RE maintenance strategies, worked with asset and SPU Maintenance and Reliability group• Developing clear and consistent repair scopes and quality assurance verifications of equipment repairs and installations, to ensure continuous improvement and defect elimination• Working closely with the SPU machinery specialists, unit mechanical specialists, unit maintenance personnel, operations, Performance Unit Rotating Equipment TA, and outside repair shops as technical resources• Staying familiar with operating asset maintenance and operations site practices and personnel, using open communication and frequent site visits• Ensuring that standards are followed during procurement, repairs and installation of RE• Cooperate with SPU REE discipline specialists and technical authority by sharing information, participating in Lessons Learned, and active involvement in REE Community of Practice (CoP)• Serving as a technical resource to support upgrades and modifications• Analyzes equipment monitoring data and develops appropriate response to reliability problems and assists in verifying correct parts are being used and assessing whether used parts are repairable• Reviews/develops standardized repair procedures for use in BP and outside repair shops in the area of expertise and networks with peers across BP through the Rotating Equipment Network and with industry peers in other companies.
