Our Client is progressive, responsible, innovative andThe Role:The Rotating Equipment Engineer is responsible throughout the project lifecycle for the delivery and assurance of the Rotating Equipment mechanical packages and equipment. This includes Brownfield and Greenfield scope. Key Accountabilities: • Set technical direction for the design contractor for activities related to Rotating Equipment. • Review design deliverables including specifications, data sheets and drawings • Resolution of technical queries from the Contractor related to RE scope • Manage the delivery of RE packages • Oversee the procurement of major equipment packages for rotating equipment including surveillance of manufacturing and test programs and attendance at FATs as required • Technically evaluate request for exceptions/deviations to relevant ETPs standards and GPO Specifications and advise the Mechanical Lead on technical integrity issues • Ensure that quality requirements are embedded in the design and delivery of RE scope • Review proposed workscope activities related to Brownfied RE, covering extensive refurbishment of existing gas turbine driven compressor packages, gas turbine power generation packages, diesel power generation and numerous pumps including diesel driven firewater pumps. • Ensure mechanical systems are designed, supplied, installed and commissioned to meet first year operational performance criteria. • Ensure that the project team works closely with Operations to identify and capture standardisation opportunities so that life cycle costing considerations are fully reflected in mechanical equipment definition. • Act as primary interface with the GRE (Global Rotating Equipment) team • Work with the GRE team to ensure alignment between project and GRE team • Network with other shareholder projects and functional experts to facilitate knowledge transfer/lessons learnt and ensure operability, maintainability and reliability of mechanical equipment. • Responsible for managing the contractor performance for deliverables related to RE scope • Maintain a clear understanding of planned against actual progress for RE engineering deliverables and intervene where necessary to maintain schedule • Incorporate Lessons learned into the project design • Capture Lessons from the Project and feedback into the system • Responsible for ensuring the documented close out of specific RE discipline actions relating to HAZOP, LOPA, EDR/PHSSER and PHSSER etc. • Contribute to the Project Risk workshops and highlight risk areas related to RE scope.Essential Skills / Qualifications:Candidates will have knowledge and experience of front end engineering design, detailed design and technical support of construction and commissioning for major projects. Knowledge and experience will typically include: • Professionally qualified engineer (IMechE or equivalent preferred) • Thorough knowledge of industry standards and ETPs within discipline area • Previous work experience related to the design, procurement and installation of electrically driven pumps • Previous experience related to the technical aspects of Gas turbine Generators • Brown field projects/ or operations experience • Familiar with Engineering design work processes and working experience on Projects during Execute phase • Regular Site visits expected during refurbishment, installation and commissioning phaseAbout Fircroft:Fircroft has been placing people in specialist technical industries for approaching half a century, focusing on mid to senior level engineers for contract and permanent roles worldwide.
