Job Title: Senior Machinery Engineer Location: Houston Reports to: Engineering Manager / FEED manager Project Our client is proposing to build a 2.1 mtpa liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant and export facility. The LNG plant is based on liquefaction technologies with electrical driven refrigerant compressors, other compressors and pumps both in cryogenic and other services (there are no gas turbines). The process plant will be modularized to the maximum reasonable extent with rotating equipment located in the modules. Remaining rotating equipment will be packaged or skid mounted. Position NES Global Talent is seeking candidates to work on the Front End Engineering Design of a world class LNG Project. The FEED is expected to take up to 12 months, ready for a decision to move into the EPC phase. The EPC phase is expected to be 36 months depending on EPC proposals from the FEED contractors. Responsibilities An Engineering Manager or FEED Manager will be in charge of each FEED and the Senior Machinery Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager/FEED Managers with oversight by the Deputy Project Director. The Senior Machinery Engineer will be responsible for: Working on the FEEDs splitting time between two offices as necessaryFormulating the engineering design definition with the FEED contractors and oversight of contractor design performanceInputting of practical advice into design and execution planningReviewing and optimizing the design of rotating equipment and optimizing the design for modularizationReviewing and commenting on FEED & EPC engineering deliverables, machinery selection from vendors and vendor documents for machineryPreparing reports and evaluations of machinery and equipment selectionParticipating in design scheduled design reviews and reviewing and commenting on constructability, modularization and participating in execution planningWorking with QA to establish the quality control requirements and testing programs for rotating equipmentReviewing and commenting of quantities, costs and prices of the equipment and the works, with a focus on cost efficiency to meet required cost targets Participating in commissioning & start-up planning and reviewing and commenting of commissioning deliverables; Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering10+ years of major project experience in design and implementation within capital projects in the petroleum industryExperience on LNG plant FEED, EPC contracts essential and commissioning and operations is desirableStrong technical competence in the specification of machinery/rotating equipment utilized in LNG plant design with expertise in modularized LNG plant equipmentTeam player with proven management and leadership skills.Demonstrated ability for development of reports for and presentations to management.Demonstrated interpersonal/teambuilding skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to build relationships quickly in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural, and multi-company environments. Additional Requirements: Visits to vendors works, module fabrication yards and to the site as required.
