Brief Posting Description We are currently sourcing a few Offshore Rotating Equipment Engineers to join our team in Houston TX. This position will report directly to the Sr. Manager. At this time, we will only consider applications from citizens of the United States or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place. Detailed Description Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments including complex problems and complete almost any projecttasks with minimal guidance and direction. May serve as the project lead mechanical engineer or project mechanicaltechnical authority on projects with small to medium complexity.The Successful candidate(s) will be responsible for, but not limited to:Responsible for the design of mechanical equipment packages and development of mechanicalspecifications, datasheets and technical requisitions for mechanical equipment packages.Conducts engineering cost, feasibility, and planning studies analyzing customer needs and data includingresearching, investigation, and coordination with other engineers and providing recommendations to theclient. Performs specification and selection of mechanical equipment to meet project criteria. Performs bidevaluations of mechanical equipment and makes recommendations for award.Initiates communication between mechanical package engineers and other appropriate engineering anddesign disciplines to ensure equipment information matches latest available from equipment vendors.Support project management personnel with regular reporting, scheduling, staffing planning andcoordination.Check Engineering calculations as well as check all drawings in accordance with industry codes andstandards; Assist with the development of less senior personnel.Plans and participates in any inspection/testing activities associated with their respective equipmentpackages; Also assist less experienced personnel with this effort to assist in skill development.Oversee and coordinate specialized mechanical design with inhouse specialists and supplers as necessary(e.g., heat transfer, rotating equipment, material handling, HVAC, etc.).Experience specifying and purchasing large rotating equipment packages for the Offshore industry. Experience with GasTurbines is highly preferred.Working knowledge of most mechanical equipment packages and could be considered a technical specialist for severalmechanical packages. May include rotating equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and/or piping and piping items(valves, specialty items, etc.).Ability to use required software/programs (after basic training), including Word, Excel, Pacesetter, and Citadon at minimum.Maintains a high level understanding of departmental design standards and guidelines, as well as, applicable engineeringcodes and standards.Strong ethical standards. High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work. Strongorganizational skills and attention to detail. Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative. Possesses integrity,strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable. Accountable for results. Adaptable and flexible to the changingneeds of projects. Team player that works well with supervisors, subordinates, peers and clients.
