Position available for a Head of Rotating Equipment to join an Oil and Gas Operator in a permanent residential role based in Qatar.Key responsibilities will include:* Managing the day to day rotating equipment maintenance activities, advising Management on technical matters and problems arising from plant breakdowns, and defects found during planned maintenance.* Reviewing technical specifications for major modification activities of all rotating equipment.* Development and implementation of condition monitoring system for all rotating equipment within the gas operations area.* Preparation of OSR and spare parts requirements for rotating equipment.* Managing and monitoring the major rotating equipment maintenance budget.* Preparation of contract scope of work regarding overhauling and refurbishments of major insurance components for major rotating equipment.* Managing the adequate levels of spare parts and materials and reviewing levels based on maintenance histories of major rotating equipment to ensure reasonable and cost effective inventory.* Reviewing and approving purchase requisitions.* Evaluating technically tenders received for supply of material, advising on purchases.* Identification, coordination and preparation of detailed work scope for scheduled major rotating equipment shutdown and strategy for timely execution and completion of all shutdown works.* Directing a multi-crafted work force on diverse works on complex rotating equipment and machinery, ensuring safety during the process plant turnarounds and during start ups.* Preparing and reviewing standards and philosophies related to rotating equipment and condition monitoring.* Providing reliability engineering support and technical expertise with optimization of machine integrity, minimization of machine failures.* Insuring the reliability, availability and integrity of rotating equipment within the operating plants.* Managing and controlling assigned annual budget and ensuring that expenditure is in line with the business plan.* Providing technical support for EPC contracts and issues related to rotating equipment.* Managing the review studies aimed to convert major equipment maintenance strategy from time based to cost effective condition based.* Reviewing failure reports to determine root cause and recommending actions to eliminate them in the future.* Evaluating the effectiveness of the existing condition monitoring plan and suggesting ways to promote it.* Providing advisory services on the area of expertise, suggesting modifications based on the review of equipment condition monitoring data gathered to enhance equipment reliability.* Implementing the safety policy with regards to corporation employees and contract personnel.* Holding regular safety meetings within the section, advising staff on safety related queries which they may have.The ideal candidate will have:* A BS.c in Mechanical Engineering plus relevant specialist courses.* A minimum of 12 years experience in the maintenance, overhauling, condition monitoring and troubleshooting of all types of rotating equipment related to the oil/gas/petrochemical industry, with at least 4 years in petrochemical industry.* Fluency in the English language.* Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering with a proven track record in a leading petrochemical company.* Computer literacy and familiar with computerized maintenance management system and assets condition monitoring system.Ref No: HQ00025372 About Petroplan:Petroplan is a global organisation which specialises in connecting skilled professionals with exceptional contract and permanent career opportunities throughout the oil, gas and energy industry.
