Progressive Global Energy has been tasked with providing a Mechanical Engineer for an EPC company located in the Galleria (Houston) The Engineer will be involved in pipeline engineering projects in Texas. You will be involved in the design and selection of onshore large diameter gas and/or oil pipeline equipment. Your main tasks will be the design of booster stations, pigging stations, metering stations, and associated pipeline facility equipment. * It is highly desirable to have experience with Pipeline Toolbox and Stoner Pipeline Simulator (SPS). This is not required but could be useful for a dual role. Rate: The hourly rate will vary based on experience; we are looking to pay between the ranges of $55 - $70/hr. Length: 6 month contract with possibility of extension Familiar with pipeline rotating equipment: large booster (can type) pumps (100 HP – 300 HP), mainline centrifugal pumps (1,000 HP & larger), reciprocating compressors (1000 HP and larger), large motors with Variable Frequency Drives.Experience working with compressors and natural gas pipeline equipmentPump and Compressor experience on cross country pipelines required (United States Pipelines)Understanding of CF 192 and 195, DOT, and FERC requirementsFamiliar with industry standards (API, ASME, ANSI) Can develop package specifications for equipment (familiar with procurement cycle of equipment) that also includes instrumentation Familiar with P&IDs Familiar with fire protection systems Experience with producing equipment RFQs and requisitions Other requirements: - 10 years experience minimum- PE for Mechanical Engineering desired (EIT ok)- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Related Field Having summarised the role, I am sure you will have further questions.
