The Company:The biggest refining and petrochemical complex in Europe.The Role:Supervision of the activities related to rotating equipment installation, assuring that all activities are carried out complying with all quality and safety requirements during Construction and Pre-commissioning phases.
Verify that Contractors, Subcontractors & Vendors work in a safe manner and according to Project safety plan and procedures.
Make regular safety walks to verify the area housekeeping and safety.
Verify that work permits are obtained before start and ensure compliance to permit conditions. Facilitate the ATI work permit process for Lot 2A, by attending the PCO meetings when required by the Construction Superintendant.
Assist the Construction Superintendant and Package Manager in Lot 2A for all activities regarding construction and pre-commissioning of rotating equipment and associated packages or skids.
Perform field surveys on rotating equipments and associated skids during installation
Ensure that preservation is well manage by Contractor and Subcontractors
Review Contractor / Vendors - spare part list and assist TRA for spare parts management
Request and review rotating equipment documentation and ensure adequacy of documentation delivery to TRA
Provide field assistance to solve issues or identify potential issues during construction and pre-commissioning
Prepare, issue to Contractor, and file Construction and Final Punch Lists, and follow up the completion of relevant outstanding works.
Participate to all inspections of rotating equipment as invited by Contractor (RFIs) and/or by instruction of Construction Superintendent.
Ensure in advance that no hold up of Contractor work can occur due to lack of needed engineering documents and materials, or work area accessibility. This to avoid Contractor claims).
Check acceptance forms for performed work and state that work is in accordance with drawings/requisitions or reject the work with a precise description why.
Collect and file all the relevant QC forms, according to the acceptance procedure.
Check regularly if Quality documents and Inspection and Testing Plans (ITP) are correctly informed, including verify the presence of all the needed documents
Report and maintain close liason with other discipline supervisors working in the area and Construction Superintendant in order to prevent all clashes or work in the area.
Check Contractor's progress of work and transmit relevant data to Construction Superintendant or Lot 2A Scheduler.
Verify and discuss with Construction Superintendant and Field Project Engineer eventual modification or any difference when works must be executed in different way as indicated on drawings and cooperate with them to propose solutions for the relevant modification.
Record any modification or extra work for further approval by Package Manager, before the execution of the work itself.
Principal Accountabilities:
Rotating equipment professional adequately qualified regarding rotating equipment as to be able to solve issues of rotating equipment by applying the applicable international codes, standards, method of maintenance and/or project specific standards
Providing rotating equipment information throughout the phases of construction and pre-commissioning to the project team.
Provide the technical expertise to assist in achieving accuracy in project piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs).
Participating in inspections and field testing of equipments as required.
Participating in equipment check-out and pre-commissioning as required.
The position will be based in TRA during construction and pre-commissioning phases, but could require travels to other Contractor location offices, vendor shops and yards. This position may be prolonged for the commissioning phase.Essential Skills / Qualifications:Must have Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, Project Engineering certification preferred or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years project experience and inspection in manufacturing plants or similar field activities. Experience in refinery, petrochemical or industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance. Design is a plus.
Strong experience and understanding of steam turbines, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, centrifugal and positive displacement compressors, lubrication systems, mechanical seals, and vibration monitoring equipment. (MMS).
Strong experience with API_686_Recommended Practices for Machinery Installation.
Strong experience with machinery performance analysis including compressor / pump efficiency evaluation, vibration analysis, and hydraulic analysis.
