Swift Worldwide Resources are currently recruiting for a Rotating Equipment Lead Engineer to work for a Major Operator in the oil and gas industry. The role will be based in Reading, BerkshireINTRODUCTION The objective of this task is to follow rotating equipment activities during FEED phase of the Project. Part of this task is the involvement in the review of the engineering part of the bids for EPC.MAIN ACTIVITIES/DELIVERABLESOVERVIEW Supervising, monitoring and managing the execution by the CONTRACTOR of the FEED activities related with the rotating machinery and package equipment under this task responsibility; Verification of major rotating equipment selection studies provide the best efficiency andminimizes total cost of ownership, whilst meeting or exceeding RAM requirements;Ensuring the design of rotating machineries, in compliance with maintenance, operability,safety practices and regulations;Determination of Condition Monitoring strategies and equipment selection;Contributing technically (for this discipline) to improve the performance / economics ofthe Project;Reviewing the cost estimate basis developed by CONTRACTOR for rotating machineryand package equipment;Reviewing/evaluating the EPC Tenders for rotating machinery and package equipment.DELIVERABLES Ensuring all tasks are achieved within allocated project plan milestones, or time lines given; Liaising with other discipline engineers to ensure all aspects of design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and safety related to rotating machinery are properly covered. Provide guidance and direction to CONTRACTOR. Monitor its performance and suggest remedial actions to avoid design deficiencies; Supervising the mechanical engineering studies for FEED for rotating equipment and related packages for all process and utilities facilities with a specific focus on the main power generation, refrigeration compression packages and other large rotating equipment; Developing / reviewing the life cycle cost analysis for rotating equipment; Ensuring execution is done in conformity with the contract technical codes and standards and with the Project Basis of Design and the respective scope of work; Reviewing and commenting documents issued by CONTRACTOR (including the CFT package for EPC); Participating in VENDORs list development, VENDORs pre-qualification and clarification meetings, especially for the Long Lead items; Guaranteeing the technical assurance and providing technical expertise on rotating equipment; Ensuring Customer’s specific design and/or quality control requirements during fabrication and installation, safety & performances testing (FAT, SAT) are considered as part of the FEED documentation deliverables; Preparation of technical notes and presentations for reporting of study results; Participating in the technical and safety related reviews and consolidate mechanical engineering opinions; Taking part in the technical decision-making process; Contributing to project risk workshops and follow-up on relevant actions relating to risk responses action plan; Contributing to improve skills, know-how, experience of direct reports and provide feedback and lessons learnt to Customer head office; Key player in delivery of the Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) study; Reviewing and approving mechanical capital cost estimates; Defining, preparing and following-up any mechanical engineering studies required in line with Project gateway requirements; Contributing to safety awareness and safe work practices aligned with HSE Management
