Accountabilities
Provide expert advice on both the off-line vibration monitoring database and on-line performance monitoring database
Execute and coordinate inspection activities during rotating equipment shutdowns
Execute routine vibration data collection tasks, review data, conduct alarm/deviation surveys and report all deficiencies to relevant disciplines for follow-up. Backlog <8 weeks;
Perform boroscope inspections and execute water wash programs on gas turbines;
Adhere to and maintain rotating equipment standards, specifications and work procedures;
Demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental performance on assigned assets;
Maintain and monitor databases, oil monitoring system and rotating equipment library files;
Develop and enhance the skill of both new intakes as well as experienced technicians, to support/meet OLNG Omanisation target;
Coach and transfer knowledge to rotating equipment technicians.
Working both independently and as a contributory member of a multi-disciplined section;
Commitment to integrity and reliability of rotating equipment through quality assurance systems;
No production loss, asset outages or quality non-conformances as result of task performed;
Utilisation of maintenance management system.
Requirements
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering;
10-15 years in the petrochemical industry, with at least 6 years of working experience as a senior vibration monitoring technician dealing with gas turbines and centrifugal compressors, at least 2 years in supervisory/engineering position. High level of competence in vibration diagnostics is essential for this position;
Proven ability to pro-actively detect, analyse and resolve equipment problems independently and have a good working knowledge of on-line and off-line monitoring systems and techniques used.
