Petroplan are currently looking to recruit a Principal Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment) to work in a permanent role for a leading EPC Contractor based in UAE.Key responsibilities will include:* Review Invitation to Bid documents submitted in the proposals stage, issue inquiry requisitions, review techno-commercial vendor offers, prepare equipment, material and man-hour estimates.* Review contract requirements for project execution, supervise preparation of the Technical Document Register, identify HSE requirements and scope of work; review specifications, process data sheets, piping material specifications, piping & instrumentation diagrams, plot plans, general arrangement drawings.* Review philosophies, area classification drawings, fire and gas detector layout drawings and other relevant documents.* Establish contract review criteria, identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal through the instigation of technical queries to projects/client.* Identify a clear scope of work/supply and accordingly plan/schedule the engineering activities and manpower resource.* Identify and quantify total number of engineering deliverables, man-hour allocation, format of delivery, time schedules etc for execution of the work.* Coordinate with projects and planning on project time schedules, establish target completion dates, ensure target dates are achieved.* Develop manpower charts and schedules, recommend, assign and distribute manpower for the execution of engineering activities within budgeted project man-hours. Recommend cost effective measures to reduce overall manpower costs.* Manage the development and preparation of equipment sizing and identification of equipment specifications and interface i.e. compressors, pumps, turbines, controls, power supply, utility requirements, environmental regulation requirements and other assessments.* Define metallurgy specifications in accordance to process requirements, administer the development of mechanical datasheets.* Provide inputs for the preparation of plot plans, organize the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for inter-discipline checks, coordinate with other engineering discipline in the integration of data inputs.* Direct the preparation of technical inquiry requests, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers.* Supervise the review of design calculations, ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications and budgeted costs.* Administer the preparation of purchase requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials.* Review vendor quality plans, ensure vendor equipment's compatibility and compliance with the scope of client specifications.Coordinate with procurement, ascertain expedite of materials and equipment to site.The ideal candidate will have:* A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 15 years work experience preferably from a background in working for the EPC of the oil and gas industry.Ref No: HQ00022624 About Petroplan:Petroplan is a global organisation which specialises in connecting skilled professionals with exceptional contract and permanent career opportunities throughout the oil, gas and energy industry.
