We are currently recruiting for a Machinery Engineer for our client to be based in Leatherhead for duration of circa 12 months and a rate of £65 per hour.

Responsible for the design, specification, selection, and services relating to rotating machinery including gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, pumps, and packaged equipment.
The role of a rotating machinery engineer is highly valued within KBR and involves extensive interface with the client, project management, suppliers, corporate management, and the global team of mechanical engineers employed throughout KBR’s worldwide offices.
The minimum qualification requirements for this position are a first degree in Mechanical Engineering and a full professional qualification as a Chartered Engineer (full member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers or a recognised equivalent).
The required competency and skills would typically have been built up working for a consultant engineering company, machinery manufacturer, or end user company. Personnel would be expected to have a varied and extensive experience of rotating machinery applications in the onshore (including LNG plants and refineries) and offshore (including platforms and FPSOs) oil and gas project environment to include concept, front end engineering design, detailed design, commissioning, and operations.
A specialist and detailed knowledge of the major machinery types, to include centrifugal, axial and reciprocating compressors, pumps, and gas/steam turbines will be required. A good working knowledge of machinery rotordynamics, machinery performance calculations, lubrication, shaft sealing, and machinery selection criteria is essential. Field experience in the manufacturing, performance testing, commissioning, and trouble shooting of machinery systems is strongly desired. Also required is a working knowledge of API industry standards for machinery and the ability to develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines.
Job success will depend on interpersonal skills and the effective interaction with others. Selected personnel will be highly competent in written and spoken communication and therefore be able to make effective presentations, and write technical reports including technical papers.
