A day in the life of a Machinery Engineer:Delivers reliability stewardship to the plant by providing rotating equipment (RE) integrity management services.Provide technical support to operations and maintenance on RE issues and problems related to RE integrity, reliability, maintenance quality and required design changes to improve operations on this RE.Own corresponding threats and lead multi-discipline team in the process of resolution or mitigation.Coordinate the RE activity interfaces with engineering disciplines, Projects group, Contract and Procurement, Operations and Maintenance and Reliability, providing guidance through internal and external applicable standards in discipline-related issues.Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of machinery repaired and support project Hold-Point milestonesDemonstrates excellence in personal safety, environmental protection and assuring equipment integrity and coach new comers into the behavioural elements as a role model.Coach peers in developing machinery test procedures and promote acceptance criteria discussions to improve current and/or ongoing QA/QC in new machinery performance or repairs.Providing visible engineering support and technical assurance for all machinery equipment-related activities on site with clear accountabilities in result-oriented activities.Implementation and support for Blade 12 execution as FSR for RE related safety critical element.Support Technical Authority (TA) structure and strive to become a site TA at corresponding levelImprove the reliability of the RE and machinery, optimize maintenance and spare parts strategies (ie RCM-Shell Best Practices, Standardizing, applying machinery diagnostics and statistics to investigate failures (ie. Mean Time Between Maintenance MTBM-, Bad Actors)Create, implement and monitor Preventive Maintenance (PM) inspection schedules to ensure equipment integrity aiming to an optimum of cost-benefitDesign Maintenance Strategies for equipment and equipment systems; including those that may be related to engaging external contractors or service providersSupport, lead and facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCA)/Causal Learning Investigations, investigate major and high cost impacting failures, aim to improve plant mechanical integrity, reliability and availability.Set up/organize and/or conduct training for RE workshop personnel and operational and maintenance staff.Initiate, follow up and complete RE-related Management of Change (MOC) to suit process requirement and changes to address production threats and long term rotating equipment issues.Additional Responsibilities for the Sr. Machinery Engineer:Act as back up to the Machinery Engineering Supervisor and/or Machinery Engineering Manager during their absencesOwn and supervise Engineering initiatives put in motion either directly or through the corresponding Field Machinery EngineersKeep updated files and track of every owned activity and produce progress reports with close follow-up plan.Requirements:Must have legal authorisation to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.Fly in / Fly out is an option for this role if the candidate is not already living in the Fort McMurray, AB area.The certification process required for safety sensitive positions may include a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty and tests for alcohol abuse and specified drugs.Must possess a valid class 5 Driver's License. The certification process for safety and security related positions may require a driver's abstract.BsC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentMaster Degree in Mechanical Engineering is a strong assetMinimum 7 years experienced related to Rotating Equipment field within engineering design, operation and maintenance.Working knowledge of industrial rotating equipment, such as electric motors, pumps, fans, conveyors, etc.Experience in overhauling, maintaining industrial rotating equipment (site-maintenance experience preferred)Experience using vibration and oil analysis techniques for risk-based decision making process.Experienced using condition and performance monitoring tools to evaluate technical integrity and corrective maintenance recommendation.Good task management and reporting skills.Demonstrates innovative, creative, and strategic thought process.Sound decision making ability based on experience and technical skills to support operations, maintenance, and reliability teams.Strong time leadership skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.*LI-TN
